The chairman and the committee members of Kanchanganga Cooperative Housing Society, Margao have tendered an unconditional apology to the association all the doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff involved day and night in fighting the deadly virus.
“I myself being a paramedic cannot even dream of defaming the doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff, not yesterday, today or tomorrow”, Society chairman, Hemant Angle stated in his letter addressed to Kuntal D Kerkar, President, Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI), Goa branch.
“This letter is to convey to you that I or my committee has no ill-will, as it is perpetrated to be by the circulators of the letter against any doctor, nurse and paramedical staff. Our letter is being totally misconstrued and the professionals should rest assured that we are in awe of their yeoman service to this profession in good times as well as in these trying circumstances. If in any way you have been slighted or hurt then I and my committee apologizes to you profusely and unconditionally”, Angle said in the apology letter.
“We again reiterate that we have nothing against the doctors, nurses and paramedical staff”, he said.
The apology letter comes after the Association of Nurses lodged a complaint with the Fatorda police, saying the matter will create wrong impression about nurses and frontline warriors in the public minds and will have difficulty in carrying out their normal duties in the hospitals in Goa. Also it will set a very wrong image and bad example against the nurses In Goa.
TNAI Goa Branch had strongly condemned the act of the society and demanded that chairman Hemant Angle tender an apology to the nurses.
The society had asked Vandana Borkar of Borkar nursing home to stop housing hospital nurses and doctors in the housing society following apprehensions raised by members that nurses in PPE kits come to the flats after their duty. Vandana, however, had denied the claim, saying no nurse returns to the flats in PPE kits.
