On govt papers, Margao Covid cases showing steady decline

MARGAO
What could be the possible reasons for the decline in number of Covid cases reported at the Margao Health centre area, is a question boggling the minds of both healthcare workers and citizens alike.

For, while the number of persons visiting the Health centre to collect their home isolation kit has not come down, the health bulletin once again shows a decline of active cases in the Margao Urban Health area by as high as 167 cases on Saturday.

A glance at the statistics dished out by the health bulletin over the last five days shows that the cases, which touched 2837 on Tuesday has now come down to 2356.

From 2837 on Tuesday, the number of active cases marginally increased to 2842 on Wednesday, before the cases came down drastically to 2499 on Thursday, sharp fall of 343 cases.

While the cases on Friday increased by just 24 on Friday, taking the total number of active cases in Margao to 2523 cases, the cases have further come down to 2356 cases, a further drop of cases, around 167 to be precise.

Incidentally, though the health bulletin has showed the decline in cases, officials of the Margao Health centre said the number of persons visiting the Health centre to collect the has not stopped with a decline in the Covid cases.

In fact,  around 60 persons were believed to have come to the Health centre to collect the home isolation kits. “We have no idea whether the cases have come down in the city. All that we know is that the number of persons visiting the Urban health centre to collect the home isolation kits have not come down”, the official said.

Meanwhile, officials of the Margao Urban Health centre said the Health centre has received fresh stock of home isolation kits from the health department on Saturday.
