"We have taken a decision to give Miramar Residency on leave and licence. The tender was floated on April 22, 2016, for development as five-star or higher grade hotel. The tender has been bagged by M/s Naman Developers Pvt Ltd. We will, however, re-examine the agreement before taking a final decision," said Ajgaonkar.
"The contractor will have to first pay Rs 43 crore concession fee and get all licences, permits required. All agreements required to be done with authorities like banks should be done by the contractor within 280 days after which within 90 days GTDC will hand over the property," he said.
Listing the benefits to the State Government, he said, "Once it is given on lease, 60 rooms will be upgraded to 300 rooms. Presently, there are 30 jobs which will be go up to 900 and 80 per cent
Goans will be employed. The present revenue earned is Rs 3 crore which will increase to Rs 100 crore."
