Panaji: Sports Minister Govind Gaude has confirmed that there are currently no plans to establish a Sports University in Goa, and as a result, there are no documents or updates on this subject. In his statement, Gaude also provided details about the existing Khelo India Centres in the State. The Khelo India District Centre for Hockey is located at the Peddem Sports Complex in North Goa, while the Centre for Football is situated at the Fatorda Sports Complex in South Goa. These centres are focused on nurturing young talent in their respective sports. Additionally, Gaude mentioned that the Department is exploring the possibility of opening more Khelo India Centres across each district in Goa.
