Margao Municipal Council’s ambitious Expression of Interest inviting bids from chartered accountants to prepare the financial budget for the year 2026-27 had no takers.
Left with no option, the Margao Municipal Council has invited fresh bids from registered chartered accountants to prepare the annual budget estimate for the year 2026-27. The sealed quotes received from the eligible chartered accountants will be opened at 3.30 pm on October 29.
While floating the Expression of Interest, the civic body had assured to provide the required data for the preparation of the annual budget estimate for the year 2026-27 to the qualified bidder.
An official in the know informed that the civic body had to invite fresh bids from registered and eligible chartered accountants to prepare the budget estimates since not a single chartered accountant evinced interest in the bid.
An MMC taxation official told 'The Goan' that the proposal inviting registered chartered accountants to prepare the budget estimates has been prepared in view of the Council resolution, wherein it was resolved to rope in eligible chartered accountants to prepare the budget estimates.
