Admitting that the State government was feeling the pinch of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s absence while taking vital decisions, Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude, however, said there was no threat to the government.
“There are expectations that the chief minister could be back hale and healthy by April end or by mid May,” said Gaude, while speaking to reporters.
“Since the government is in coalition, there could be contradictions or parties could differ on views and party principles. But it is the need of the hour to work united and together as one strong force at this juncture, if issues plaguing Goans need to be answered.”
“There is no threat to the State government as some rumours have suggested. It’s an open secret that we are surely feeling the absence of the Chief Minister. Whenever the head of the house is absent, it obviously becomes difficult for other family members to move around smoothly or take decisions.”
“Being an independent MLA, I can only speak for myself and not on behalf of anybody or other coalition partners in the government.”
Gaude stated that in a coalition government, every party could have different views and party principles.
Ruling out any threat to the government, Gaude said, “The Congress has been trying to form the government since 2017 when we got elected, but it was not possible for them to form the government. So where is the question of them toppling the present government and forming a new government?”
“If they had good leadership, they would have been in the government by now,” said Gaude.
