Claiming that no voter in India is corrupt, Aam Aadmi Party’s national executive member Kumar Vishwas on Friday said people did not have a better option than which the AAP was now providing.

“In the whole of India, no voter is corrupt. They did not have an option. Now, they have an option in the form of AAP and that has upset the calculations of traditional parties,” Vishwas said.

The AAP’s leader was answering a pointed question whether Goan voter was corrupt and therefore getting swayed by resourceful politicians.

Kumar Vishwas was addressing a news conference after releasing the AAP’s Mapusa manifesto in the presence of AAP’s Mapusa candidate, Shraddha Khalap and others.

Speaking further, he said AAP has offered Goans a bunch of wonderful candidates who comprise a mix of bureaucrats, technocrats and ex-Olympians.

“In this assembly election, it’s going to be a contest between clean, educated and common man candidates, versus the traditional politicians in Goa. AAP has done its job. It’s for the people of Goa to speak out though their vote,” he said.

The celebrated poet turned politician said he saw a strong undercurrent for AAP in Goa which will translate into votes on February 4.

“When I moved around the Friday market in Mapusa, people recognized me and just came and hugged me. People do connect with the volunteers of the AAP. Our candidate will win in Mapusa,” he declared emphatically.

AAP has fielded Shraddha Khalap, daughter-in-law of former union minister and Congressman, Ramakant Khalap against incumbent and BJP MLA, Francis D’Souza in Mapusa.

Vishwas said AAP was the only party in the State that has declared its chief ministerial candidate while the traditional parties were struggling to do so.

According to the AAP leader, there were many similarities between Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal and Goa’s chief ministerial candidate, Elvis Gomes.

“Besides both having been bureaucrats, they are also humble. Both are against corruption. Both got fed up from the archaic administrative system,” Vishwas said.

He said people have faith in Gomes and he would emerge victorious along with other candidates in the assembly polls.

‘BJP will do badly, Cong wiped off in Goa’ MAPUSA: Aam Aadmi Party’s leader Kumar Vishwas said that BJP in Goa would lose badly while Congress would fail to open its account in the assembly polls.

“There is infighting within the BJP ranks in Goa. RSS cadre too is working against the BJP. I am in touch with some RSS leaders who say that their cadre will not work for BJP in Goa,” Vishwas said.

“The internecine politics within BJP is very complicated,” he alleged.

He also said Congress in Goa was fighting for survival and in their quest to cut each other to size, all will perish when the results will be out on March 11.
