Non-bedded PHC for Porvorim soon
SALIGAO: Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte has stated that a non-bedded primary health centre will be opened shortly at Porvorim, for the benefit of the residents of Porvoirm constituency.
“Once this non-bedded primary health centre is opened, residents will not be required to go to GMC Hospital at Bambolim or Aldona Primary Health Center for minor health ailments,” he added.
He was speaking at a free eye camp organised Porvorim Rising in association with GKB Optolab and Sateri Mahila Mandal, Halliwada, at Sateri temple.
Claiming that eyes are the most important part of the human body, Khaunte emphasised the need for regular eye checkup.
“On account of financial problems, poor people do not get their eyes checked and consequently, they suffer from eye disorders. It is for the benefit of the poor people from the village, this eye camp has been organised,” said Khaunte.
Guest of honour Dr Padmanab Rathakal said regular health check up is essential to live a long and healthy life.
