Non-teaching and admin workforce in Goa's government and private schools have got a fiat from the Education Department to physically report to their institutions and work for full hours from Monday next.
A similar directive has also gone from the Higher Education department to staffers, including faculty in the undergraduate colleges and also the Goa University.
The circular issued by the Education Department on Friday said all administrative and non-teaching staff of government and non-government institutions -- High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools -- shall start functioning for full working hours from June 7.
The move indicates the eagerness of the government to begin the new academic year 2021-22 on schedule from June 21.
Meanwhile, for Colleges and in the Goa University, not just admin and non-teaching staff but faculty too have been asked to report to work from Monday.
Director of Higher Education Prasad Lolayenkar issued the circular which cites the "improved Covid pandemic situation" to state that the government has decided to re-open all educational institutions under the department from June 7.
Lolayenkar, however, states that teaching will remain in the digital mode only.
“Students will not be allowed to come to educational institutions for any teaching-learning activities until further orders,” Lolayenkar said in the circular.
Teaching staff from colleges are to attend work in their respective institutions from Tuesday, June 8.
Teaching staff as well as non-teaching staff at the University, meanwhile, will have to report to duty from Monday itself, Lolayenkar's circular says.
