Not yet registered on RERA web? Builders to pay Rs 1 lakh penalty

PANAJI: The Department of Urban Development has informed that builders will now have to a penalty of Rs 1 lakh for late registration of on-going real estate projects on RERA website. This penalty of Rs 1 lakh is applicable for registration of projects from April 1 to April 30.

Actually, the state government had set a deadline of March 23 for all the developers in the state to register on RERA website their real estate projects. Given that the deadline has long gone by, the government has now imposed a penalty on the erring builders.

However, if the builders fail to register projects even by April 30, then the penalty amount will be Rs 2 lakhs for registration of projects on RERA website from May 1 to July 1.
