Even as Congressmen are keeping their fingers crossed over the issue over Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) leadership, South Goa MP and senior Congress leader Francisco Sardinha was once again back in the national capital on Tuesday.
He, however, said his presence in Delhi has nothing to do with the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) leadership issue.
The MP, who went to Delhi on Monday, said he has attended a meeting of the Estimate Committee of Parliament, since he is a member of the panel.
The South Goa MP, whose candidature for the top post has been doing the rounds in Congress circles, informed that he had come to Delhi on Monday in view of the meeting of the Estimates Committee of Parliament scheduled on Tuesday.
“Apart from the meeting of the Estimates committee, I have no appointment with anyone,” Sardinha said.
The South Goa MP had visited the national capital last week, but had later clarified that his visit was in connection with a meeting on Science and Technology.
Sources in the know said that senior party leaders, including Venugopal and Goa Desk In-charge, Dinesh Gundu Rao are also not in the national capital for the moment.
The race for the GPCC leadership is expected to be decided after the High Command deliberates on the report of the AICC Goa desk in-charge, Dinesh Gundu Rao.
