After actress Poonam Pandey was linked to a porn video filmed at Chapoli Dam, actor-model Milind Soman could find himself in similar trouble after an image of him running nude on a beach in the State went viral on social media.
The Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM) on Thursday evening filed a police complaint with Vasco police against Soman, accusing him of having insulted the image and culture of Goa.
Soman had posted a photo of him running nude on a beach to celebrate his 55th birthday. The photograph was reportedly attributed to his wife, Ankita Konwar.
Speaking to reporters, Vasco GSM unit secretary Samir Khutwalkar said Vasco police must initiate necessary action against the model.
“Milind Soman celebrated his 55th birthday in Goa on November 4. The birthday was celebrated in an indecent, vulgar and obscene manner by running nude on a Goan beach, which is a public place,” said Khutwalkar.
“While the model may have created a sensation on social media for his cheap publicity, he has spoilt the image of Goa and insulted the culture of the State. This is not acceptable from a celebrity and the act attracts certain penal provisions. Police should register a case and Soman should be booked.”
“This will set an example for other celebrities not to repeat such acts and get away with them. The police should verify details of the beach location and act immediately,” said Khutwalkar.
Sources in Vasco police, however, said it was not clear if the beach in question, where the model engaged in a nude run, was anywhere near Vasco.
Meanwhile, the Instagram account of Milind Soman, where the nude picture of him running naked was posted with a message “Happy Birthday to me..#55”, has received over 1.37 lakh likes and over 4,000 comments.
