Man from Zuarinagar killed in road mishap on Chicalim-Verna highway

A 47-year-old man from Zuarinagar was killed in an accident at the Verna-Chicalim highway on Wednesday night.

According to sources, Subanna Madar was headed towards Verna on his scooter, when he rammed into a stationary truck from the rear near the Metastrips area.”

“There was no illumination along the highway and the deceased may not have noticed the stationary truck along the road.”

“Madar sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to Chicalim Sub District hospital, but passed away while undergoing treatment,” the source added.

Verna police later registered a case and arrested the truck driver, who was later released on bail.
