The Konkan railway Corporation added another to its cap in providing amenities to the travelling rail commuters.
As a part of providing improvised passenger amenities across railway stations over Konkan Railway route a newly revamped Executive Lounge at Margao railway station has been inaugurated at the hands of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday.
The fully air-conditioned executive lounge is spread over the sprawling 1,700-square-foot space. It offers luxury cushioned sofas, free high-speed Wi-Fi, a free reading gallery, a live train information display, free shoe polish, shower facilities, power outlets for charging electronic devices, a climate forecast display, a wheelchair facility, a mini workstation with printing facilities.
The sophisticated lounge space will also have a relax zone with an automatic massage machine, travel desk, transfer to coach facility, souvenir gift gallery showcasing local artefacts, mini locker facility and other amenities. Passengers can also avail of the music on-demand facility.
The lounge has specially designed sleeping pods which offer travellers a place to relax and sleep. They are pay-per-use short-term sleep capsules with personal storage, charging point, fan and wake-up-call facility.
The lounge offers a-la-carte and the food zone will remain open around the clock. Nutrition travel diet food packets are available at the food zone for diet-conscious passengers.
Passengers can avail of the lounge facilities for two hours by paying an amount of Rs 50/- (exclusive of taxes).
The lounge offers passengers everything they need to spend time while waiting for their train.
