A corrigendum issued by the Chief Town Planner (Administration) James Mathew tweaks a provision in last week’s draft notification of changes in the Goa (Regulation of Land Development and Building Construction) Act, 2008 permitting farmhouses in hitherto no development zones, doubling the built up area to 1,000 square metres.
In the Notification issued on April 27, the provision for building farmhouses had said that built up area would be restricted to 10% of the holding subject to a maximum built up area of 500 square metres.
In the corrigendum issued by Mathew on Wednesday, this built up area ceiling for farmhouses is raised to 1,000 square metres.
“The maximum built up area permissible for a farmhouse irrespective of the area of plot will be 500m2” shall be read as “10% subject to a maximum built up area of 1,000m2 per holding,” Mathew said in Wednesday’s corrigendum.
Mathew also added in the corrigendum that the maximum built up area permissible for a farmhouse irrespective of the area of plot will be 1,000m2.
