The Goa Police completed a specialised 14-day training in Bomb Disposal and Counter Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), conducted by the National Security Guard (NSG), Mumbai. Held at the Police Training School in Valpoi from January 8-21, the training was led by a team of experts, including Major B Venkatesh, YR-IM Surjit Metei, and KR-II Shubham Nikam.
Goa Police PRO SP Rahul Gupta informed the media that a total of 28 police personnel from various police stations and units attended the intensive course, which covered a range of critical topics.
These included an introduction to various types of explosives and their characteristics, training on the handling of specialised bomb disposal equipment and counter-IED operations, and the effective deployment of explosive sniffer dogs in threat detection and neutralisation. The SP said certificates of completion were awarded to all the personnel on Tuesday.
