Stating that the MGP was formed by Bhausaheb Bandodkar keeping in mind the well-being of the poor and mundakars, MGP leader and Marcaim MLA Sudin Dhavalikar said Bhausaheb had given land to farmers but those lands are still not in their names.
“So, on what basis does the BJP government plan to create ‘Swayampurna Goa’? asked Dhavalikar, while addressing a meeting organised for booth workers of Sanvordem constituency at the Sadashiv Vaman Marathe Samaj Hall in Pilye-Dharbandora.
Claiming that the number of Congress MLAs would be reduced to just one by December 31, Dhavalikar said his prediction would be true.
“Congress has been breaking MGP MLAs since 1989 and now they are suffering from the same fate. BJP will experience nothing different in near future either,” he added.
Hitting back at those who were questioning the TMC-MGP alliance for the upcoming assembly polls, Dhavalikar said: “Mamata Banerjee was the Railways Minister in the Vajpayee government and hence if we now partner with TMC for the betterment of Goa how come it is bad?”
“Should it all be good only if one is with BJP? The BJP has broken the community and has ruined the entire State. The MGP is blessed by locals and our coalition will form the next government in the State,” assured the former deputy chief minister.
MGP candidate Vinayak Gawas, party treasurer Anant Naik, Naresh Gaude, Anil Naik, Dharbandora Sarpanch Swati Tilve, Deputy Sarpanch Santosh Gaonkar, panch members Yashwant Bandodkar, Paresh Futkar, Sunita Gaonkar, Dattaraj Gawas, Sacorda panchayat members Vrunda Sawant and Anand Gaonkar were also present on the dais.
MGP candidate Vinayak Gawas said Dharbandora constituency is in need of a revolution. “I request people to give me one opportunity as I intend to transform this constituency as a great example of development. I’ve been representing Dharbandora panchayat for the last 18 years and not once have I attempted politics out of revenge,” he said.
“The government promises to restart mining activity only once elections start approaching and so when BJP candidates come to your homes to seek votes, ask them why did they ban mining in the first place.”
“The sugar factory, mines and stone crushers, everything is stopped. What is running smoothly in this government? They are scared now that we’ve partnered with the TMC.”
