Keeping his cards close to his chest, Congress turncoat and Nuvem MLA Wilfred D’Sa said that he would take a call on his future political career after the election code of conduct comes into force.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a meeting of the SGPDA on Tuesday, the Congress-turned-BJP MLA said that he is presently consulting his workers, supporters and constituents on how to go about the coming polls.
“The feedback I am getting from my supporters is that many of them want me to contest as an independent, while there are others, who feel that I should contest the election on a party banner. The consultation process is still underway and I will take a call once the election code of conduct comes into force”, he said.
The Nuvem MLA, however, made it abundantly clear that he would contest the ensuing elections and seek reelection from the Nuvem constituency.
To a question, he said a couple of political parties have approached him to contest the 2022 election on their party banner, adding that he would take a final call after consulting his supporters and well-wishers. “There is still time to take a decision. The final decision will come after the election code comes into force”, he asserted.
