OEF launches ‘Mangrove Odyssey’ campaign

OEF launches ‘Mangrove Odyssey’ campaign

PANAJI

OneEarth Foundation (OEF) has launched its “Mangrove Odyssey” campaign to protect Goa’s mangrove ecosystems.

Running throughout October, the campaign includes educational trails, nature classrooms, and cultural events, culminating in the Mangrove Festival on October 26.

Goa’s mangroves, primarily along the Zuari, Mandovi, and Terekhol rivers, are vital for coastal protection and biodiversity but face threats from urbanisation and pollution.

The campaign aims to raise awareness and involve local communities, tourists, and students.

Events include guided tours, a music session with sound healing instruments, and a culinary workshop using sustainably sourced mangrove ingredients.

OEF’s partners, including the Pirojsha Godrej Foundation and Mangrove Society of India, support this initiative to preserve Goa’s mangroves and promote sustainable development.
