Members of the All Goa Toddy Tappers Employees Association have decided to knock the doors of the High Court for justice for the members.
Addressing the media, a member of the All Goa Toddy Tappers Employees Association Mario Coutinho said a group of persons, who have formed a new association under the banner of All Goa Toddy Tappers Association, have allegedly occupied the office of the Toddy Tappers at Margao. “How can a newly registered association occupy the office of the toddy tappers? We are moving the High Court for justice,” Mario said.
Saying that members of the Toddy Tappers Employees Association are ready for a compromise with the rival association in the interest of the toddy tappers, Mario, however, said that the new association should take members of the employees association into confidence.
Referring to the felicitation programme fixed by the newly registered association, Mario said the new association should instead felicitate and honour the toddy tappers who have either expired or have been incapacitated while on duty.
