OLD GOA
The Se Old Goa panchayat will have to wait for longer as the owner of the controversial structure has received the demolition order only on February 23.
Sources informed that the receipt of the registered AD, confirming that the owner has accepted the order, was received by the panchayat on February 23.
“Therefore, the panchayat will have to wait for 15 days from the receipt of the demolition order for further action in the matter, which means up to March 10,” a source added.
It may be recalled that apart from pasting the order at the construction site, the panchayat had sent a copy of the demolition order via registered AD to the owner Sumermal Jain at his Mumbai address on February 11.
Meanwhile, the sources also informed that the owner has challenged the revocation order of the panchayat issued on December 27 last year, in which the construction license and subsequent renewal license were revoked by the Se Old Goa panchayat.
“The revocation order has been challenged before the Additional Director of Panchayats-I and the hearing is slated for March 4,” the sources added.
