One arrested for accepting bets

The Crime Branch of Goa Police arrested one Satish Soni, 42, a resident of Aquem-Margao, under Section 3 and 4 of The Goa, Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act, 1976. He was later released on bail. He was arrested at his home while he was accepting bets.
Soni was caught accepting bets from people over the mobile phone during the final cricket match between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunders in the ongoing Australian Big Bash Cricket League.
Police seized five mobile phones, one laptop, one 32-inch LED TV, and other material found in possession of Soni.
Further investigation is under progress.
