Verna police arrested a 22-year-old man named Muktar Ritti from Casarwada, Bethora in Ponda for endangering public lives by performing bike stunts on roads at Verna on Monday.
The accused was charged with violating the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and Central Motor Vehicle Rule.
According to sources in the Verna police department, Ritti was riding his scooter GA 05 A 5041 in a rash and negligent manner while proceeding from the water tank IDC Verna towards ION Exchange company. He performed stunts and endangered the lives of the pillion rider, passerby public, and his own life. The accused was also not wearing a helmet, riding the scooter without a registration number plate, and without rearview mirrors.
The Verna police have registered an offense under section 279, 336 IPC and under section 129 of the MV Act, CR 125, 50 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rule. The community is reminded to follow traffic rules and regulations to ensure the safety of all road users.
