One dies, another injured as bus rams bike in Gulem

A pillion rider was killed while the motorcycle rider was seriously injured in a road mishap, when their motorcycle and a Karnataka state transport bus collided with each other at Gulem on Saturday morning.
According to Canacona police, the incident took place as Kamlakar Velip (35) and the pillion rider Arjun Velip (40) were proceeding to their home village at Barcem (Quepem) on their motorcycle (GA-09-F-8534).
The bus (KA-31-F-1340) was trying to overtake a car (GA-06E-1498), but struck it from the rear and then collided with the motorcycle at a turn near Bhumipurush temple at Gulem.
Arjun Velip died of injuries while being rushed to Hospicio Hospital at Margao, while Kamlakar Velip, who also suffered multiple injuries, was referred to GMC Hospital Bambolim in critical condition.
