MAPUSA: Anjuna Police arrested a 20-year-old youth from Verem on charges of assaulting a eunuch and committing theft of his valuables on Wednesday morning.
According to the police, four eunuchs had walked out of a beachside restaurant in Anjuna after having some food. As soon as they came out, some four boys swooped on them assaulted a 25-year-old eunuch, a resident from Candolim, police said.
The boys also snatched his bag which contained a mobile phone, cash and some other items, all worth Rs 50,000.
Police after obtaining a few leads arrested accused, Faizal Shaikh and identified another accused, who is absconding. Two others are yet to be identified.
The accused was arrested under Sections 324, 504, 506 (2), 356 and 379 IPC. PSI Shubash Gaonkar is investigating the case.
