1 held for looting taxi driver

Collem Police arrested Wahab Sheikh from Tisk-Ponda in connection with looting a taxi driver.
It may be recalled that on October 5, a taxi driver from Bandora-Ponda was looted by four assailants at Mollem who managed to rob his Qualis vehicle by tying him to a tree in the forest area. Later, the police recovered the vehicle abandoned in Karnataka.
According to Collem Police, Kumar Naik from Bandora had complained that four accused persons assaulted him and robbed his vehicle. One among them was arrested by Collem Police after almost 40 days. Police are the lookout for others.
The accused hired the Qualis and took the complainant to Collem and while returning, on the pretext to answer nature's call, they asked him to halt. The driver stopped his vehicle at Barkate-Mollem and got down. He was then assaulted and dragged into the forest area, 50 metres away from road, and was tied to a tree.
After untying himself, Kumar Naik rushed to Collem Police and lodged the complaint. Collem police is investigating the case.
