Vasco Police on Thursday arrested a 34-year-old resident of New Vaddem and instructor of a dance academy on charges of stalking, trespassing and molesting a 29-year-old woman from Mangor, Vasco.
Vasco Police said the victim had accused Tushar Volvoikar of stalking her since October 11, and on October 12 started sending her vulgar messages.
The victim further stated that when she was alone at home, Volvoikar had visited her house at Mangor and started knocking at the door on October 12 at about 11.30 pm. After repeated knocking at the door, she opened the door to tell the accused to go away, but Volvoikar pushed the door and caught hold of her arms and later molested her.
According to sources in Vasco Police, a girl had previously complained about a similar incident by Volvoikar, but her family members had refused to register the complaint.
PI Sagar Ekoskar informed that about three months back, Volvoikar was arrested under Section 151 for eve teasing and was later released on bail.
PI Ekoskar said Volvoikar has been arrested under Sections 351, 354 A and 354 D and Vasco PSI John Fernandes is investigating the case.
