In a coordinated effort between law enforcement agencies, a successful narcotics raid was executed in the vicinity of Dolphin Circle, Naika Waddo, Calangute and a West Bengal native was arrested in possession of illegal narcotic substances.
Acting on reliable intel received from specific sources, police personnel conducted the operation in the wee hours, resulting in the apprehension of a suspect allegedly involved in illicit drug trafficking.
The arrested individual has been identified as Habibal (64) presently residing in a rented room in Khobrawado, Calangute but originally hailing from West Bengal.
Upon search and seizure, the authorities discovered approximately 1.2 kilograms of dried greenish-coloured leafy substance suspected to be ganja, with an estimated value of Rs 1.20 lakh.
The contraband was promptly secured under a search & seizure panchanama.
The accused is currently in police custody pending further investigation.
Habibal was intercepted by a team led by Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Akshay Parsekar, supported by Head Constable (HC) Vidhyanand Amonkar, and Police Constables (PC) Manoj Naik, Vijay Naik, Gouresh Karbotkar, Pranay Gawas, Ganpat Tiloji and Yogesh Bordekar.
