The ten persons, who were caught red-handed while engaged in illegal online gambling, are between the age of 18 and 40. While many are residents of Vasco, two hail from Velsao-Cansaulim and Betalbatim each.
Crime Branch team headed by sub-inspector Laxi Amonkar raided the spot near Vasco fish market and has seized an amount of Rs 56, 270 while also attaching computers with internet connection used by the accused.
The accused include Gandhiji Chavan, Mitesh Kumar Mullah, Shubham Naik, Nitin Moraskar, Batisto Vaz, Raghunath Marathe, Radhesham Chavan, Itilano Fernandes, Sanket Phalkar and Rama Gaunder.
They have been booked under Section 3 and 4 of Goa Public Gambling Act. Further investigation is in progress.
