The State government on Thursday made computer generated land records through online mode valid for official purposes.

In a circular, the government stated that land related records such as Form I & XIV, Form XV, Form ‘D’ and Form ‘J’ / Survey Plans which are generated through computer will henceforth be considered valid documents without signature.

These computer generated papers will have the same validity as compared to the digitally or manually signed land records. These computer generated records will have a timestamp and an endorsement that the record is valid without signature.

The circular has been issued pursuant to the Goa land Revenue (Inspection Search and Supply of copies of Land Records) (Amendment) Rules 2021.

“The public or government departments can now avail the facility of obtaining computer-generated land records (Form I & XIV, Form XV, Form ‘D’ and Form J/Survey plans). These computer-generated land records shall have the same validity as compared to the digitally or manually signed land records and will bear the following endorsement,” the circular issued by revenue department states.

With this facility, the government has taken e-governance a step ahead and it will reduce the burden on land and survey department officials. “The Revenue Department is issuing digitally signed documents of Record of Rights and survey plans through an online system...moving one step ahead in the field of e-governance and to provide instant service of issuing the documents of Record of Rights and Survey Plan,” the circular states.

The computer generated record will have a reference number (online reference number) and also date and time of generation of record.

“The Record is computer generated…….. (Date and time)… as per…. (online reference number). This Record is valid without any signature,” circular adds.

The people can now see the latest land records on the DSLR website (https://egov.goa.nic.in/dslr).
