Saying that Congress President Rahul Gandhi was only day dreaming of the his party returning to power at the Centre after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, State BJP President Vinay Tendulkar on Saturday asserted only the BJP will resolve the mining issue in the State after the elections.
Speaking to The Goan on the sidelines of the foundation stone laying function for the 50-bedded Ayush hospital at Monte Hill here on Saturday, Vinay firmly ruled out the possibility of the Congress coming back to power after the 2019 Lok Sabha poll.
“Congress President Rahul Gandhi is only day dreaming of the party coming to power at the Centre. The Congress will not win the ensuing election. The BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will retain power at the Centre,” he said. “When the Congress will not return to power after the 2019 election, there’s no question of it resolving the mining imbroglio,” he added.
Vinay, however, said the BJP will ensure resumption of mining in the State after the Lok Sabha poll. “The BJP governments in Goa and at the Centre had taken up the issue of mining at the highest level. People are on the job to work out a solution by staying within the ambit of law,” he said.
When his attention was drawn to reports that a delegation of mining dependents also called on the Congress President on Saturday, the BJP president reiterated that only the BJP will work out a solution to the issue and ensure that legal mining resumes in the state at the earliest.
