MARGAO
A day after The Goan highlighted the danger posed by an electrical Service Pillar right at the entrance to the Goa State Cooperative bank branch in the commercial capital, Power officials and workers acted swiftly to secure the pillar with a door.
A team of power officials and staff descended at the Service Pillar on Saturday morning with equipment and wires to fix the door to the Service Pillar.
Sources in the Power department informed that the door of the Service Pillar has been fixed on Saturday, ruling out the chances of pedestrians coming in contact with the live wires inside.
The Goan had yesterday highlighted how pedestrians and motorists along the narrow road were being exposed to the danger of getting electrocuted with the electrical Service Pillar found wide open for want of a door.
Local residents have heaved a sigh of relief with the Service Pillar now secured with a door, as they appreciated the quick action taken by the Power department.
