Work on the open-air theatre and eight other projects are being undertaken in Sakhali, with the Sakhali Municipal Council (SMC) stating that these projects are a gift to people of Sakhali.
SMC Chairperson Dharmesh Saglani was addressing a gathering after he along with local MLA Dr Pramod Sawant and Sakhali councillors laid the foundation for an open-air theatre and beautification of an open space at Vasantnagar in Sakhali.
Those present at the function included Councillors Kunda Madkar, Rashmi Desai, Damodar Ghadi, Jyoti Blegan, Anand Kanekar, Yashwant Madkar, Brahma Desai, Dayaanand Boryekar and Rajesh Sawal, and SMC Chief Officer Pravinjay Pandit.
“The open-air theatre is a unique project and will be undertaken from the DMA funds of Rs 58 lakh. It will be one of the best projects in the town,” said Saglani.
“Eight more projects are being undertaken by SMC, which is a gift to the people of Sakhali on Diwali festival,” he added.
In his address, Speaker and local MLA Dr Pramod Sawant leaders and people would work for the betterment of Sakhali town, which is fast emerging as a developed city.
“Various projects, including a police station and a new KTC bus stand, are underway and people should support the development of Sakhali. The government will provide all support to make Sakhali a unique city,” said Dr Sawant.
Sakhali Councillor Rashmi Desai said the open-air theatre and beautification of an open space had been her dream project and added that she was constantly following up on the project, which would bring glory to Vasantnagar area in Sakhali town.
