The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Goa Unit has reacted sharply to the Opposition’s criticism of lawlessness in Goa against the backdrop of a spurt in crimes.
Party spokesperson Yatish Naik, at a press conference on Friday, asked the Opposition parties to stop making politically motivated and hollow statements that would only create unnecessary tension.
“The police are thoroughly investigating all the cases and successfully cracking them to bring a local conclusion. Law is taking its course in every single case. Our political opponents should stop making motivated and hollow statements,” he said.
The party has vouched for the government and police claiming the State machinery is sincerely working in achieving a breakthrough in the cases.
“The government is a hundred per cent sensitive towards maintaining the law and order in Goa,” he said, reiterating the Opposition parties should not mislead the people.
