Our motto is alliance govt should be stable, no one wants dissolution: Vijai

VASCO

TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai has said that the main motto of having an alliance is to have a stable government, even as he went on to assert no matter what anyone spoke at different occasions, nobody wanted dissolution of the House.

Sardesai was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the free eye check-up camp organised by panch of VP Cortalim and Treasurer of Mormugao Mahila Shakti Abhiyan, Anita Devendra Kenkre, at Cortalim Panchayat.

Sardesai was the chief guest on the occasion. He inaugurated the camp in the presence of parish priest of Cortalim church, Fr Diego who was the guest of honour.

Noted gynaecologist Dr Sharada Patel, Cortalim sarpanch Angela Mesquita and Deputy Sarpanch Raymond Desa, panch member Antonio Joao Fernandes, Agnel Pereira local resident and Nelly

Rodrigues were also present at the camp.

Spectacles were provided at a minimum rate of Rs 160 each to over 500 people that participated in the camp.

Speaking on the occasion, Sardesai said that initially Goa Forward had even planned to have a candidate to contest the Mapusa by-elections after the death of former deputy chief minister and Mapusa BJP legislator Francis D’Souza. “We are alliance partners and we formed the government under the leadership of CM Manohar Parrikar. This alliance should be stable and this is our primary motto. I had said that we could have helped somebody contest Mapusa by-elections but he has claimed for a BJP ticket and we are waiting for the party to decide on this,” he stated.

He said he will go by a stable government and focus on ensuring there is no destabilizing of the present government. There may be news that all is not well between alliance partners which is not actually true, he added.

“There have to be adjustments in a post-poll alliance even if at times things are not the way they should be. Everybody wants the present government to remain and no one wants dissolution, the same way how both India and Pakistan don’t want war. No matter what any politician says, no one wants dissolution.”
