While there may have been many a ways to offer return gifts to friends and families on birthday occasions, an unique initiative taken by an outgoing panch of Sancoale Panchayat took every one by surprise.
Outgoing Sancoale panch of ward no 9, Adv Arish Kadar who is celebrating his birthday on Monday decided to build a four-seater community ladies toilet at his own cost and even got the facility inaugurated at the hands of his social worker sister Jasiya Kadar on Saturday evening .
Speaking to media after the inauguration, Jasiya Kadar said that her brother had family-like relations with all ward members.
" He has built a toilet only for the ladies for the safety of women. I only urge you to take good care of the facility and mantain it so that it can be put to best use . Arish has helped us in the past by having gardens for the children and other projects that were taken up at Panchayat level but this toilet facility has been taken under his personal fund," said Jasiya.
Outgoing panch member Adv Arish Kadar said that the cost of the project was around Rs 2 lakh.
"I have built a four-seater community toilet for ladies of my ward keeping in mind that many women do not prefer to use a general toilet that has males also using it along side. I have had this long demand from the people for a community ladies toilet and I had assured them that i will take it up before our term is over and I decided it to take it up through my personal funds for the people who have supported me always. I am also celebrating my birthday on Monday and I decided to dedicate this facility to the people as a gift on my birthday thorough my own funds," said Kadar.
