Overflowing sewage chamber in Fatorda raises health concerns

Citizens seek inquiry into delayed sewage line project

Overflowing sewage chamber in Fatorda raises health concerns

MARGAO
With the overflowing sewage chamber at Ambaji-Fatorda coming under the lens of authorities, including the Health and Margao Municipal Council, citizens have posed a host of questions to the government on the issue.

One, citizens have demanded to know whether the government has floated any tender to lay a new line on the Ambaji stretch to the North Main trunk line. If yes, whether there were any bidders for the tender and if the answer is in the affirmative, whether the government has issued the work order for the contractor to execute the work?

In fact, citizens have decided to take up the issue with Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai as well as the Salcete lone Minister Aleixo Sequeira to conduct an inquiry into the overflowing sewage chamber at Ambaji-Fatorda and the delay in capping the issue by laying a line as proposed by the government in the recent past.

In fact, local residents pointed out that the issue can be resolved only by laying an alternate sewage line at the problematic stretch, while demanding to know the inordinate delay in the commencement of the work assuming that the government had tendered the work long ago.
