Water Resources and Fisheries Minister, Vinoda Paliencar, on Saturday slammed the Congress for its allegation that TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai was working on a barter formula by which he is to be replaced in the Cabinet with Calangute MLA Michael Lobo.
He recalled that Vijai himself had strongly pitched for the inclusion of his two colleagues in the Cabinet by suggesting to Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Manohar Parrikar that, if required, he (Vijai) would stay out to ensure that the Bhandari Samaj who supported GFP in the polls is rewarded with representation in the Cabinet.
“Our leader Vijai stands by his people that’s why Goemkars stand by him. Vijai knows what a word given by a Goemkar means which is not in the dictionary of the Congress Party in Goa,” Paliencar further said, and advised Congress spokesperson, Amarnath Panjikar to desist from the age old practice of trying to fish in troubled waters.
“All is well in the ruling coalition and the Government headed by Manohar Parrikar is strong and stable,” Paliencar added.
