Panaji ITI to get ‘model’ status

The state cabinet which met on Wednesday approved a resolution to designate the Panaji Industrial Training Institute (ITI) as a model ITI, which will allow it to partner with a private industry partner -- in this case Hotel Manoshanti -- and receive funds from the Centre.


PANAJI: 
Announcing the decision, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said: “It will be registered as a society which will have more flexibility. There will be central government funding, and involvement of industry.”   
The Vasco da Gama ITI has already been designated as a ‘model’ ITI with the private partner being Zuari Industries.

PANAJIThe state cabinet which met on Wednesday approved a resolution to hand over 4.57 lakh sq mts of land for setting up a National Institute of Technology campus at Cuncolim after reaching an agreement with the Centre over reservation of seats for Goans.   The State government had identified land at Cuncolim which was to be transferred to the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, but the process was stalled as there was no agreement on the reservations.…
