Panchayat poll nominations from Thursday

The model code of conduct has come into effect with the State Election Commission announcing the schedule for elections to 186 panchayats. The elections are slated for June 11.

According to the notification issued by the SEC, nomination papers will be accepted at their respective notified places from May 18 to 25 from 10 am to 1 pm except on May 21 (Sunday).

Scrutiny will be on May 26 and 27 from 10 am. Withdraw al of nominations can be done on May 29 from 10 am to 2 pm.

Counting will be held on June 13 beginning 8 am.
