A tanker carrying acid developed a leakage at Baitakhol-Borim late Tuesday night, causing panic among motorists along the route.
According to reports, the incident took place as the tanker was proceeding to Karwar.
Ponda fire station officials rushed to the site on receiving the news. Traffic along the Ponda-Margao highway was diverted via other routes. Later, the acid was contained and was transferred into another vehicle, which proceeded towards Karwar.
