The Paroda gram sabha on Sunday resolved to initiate a drive in the village to levy fines on use of plastic bags below 50 microns.   

 At the Sunday gram sabha chaired by Sarpanch Inacio Thereza, the anti-plastic drive will be initiated in the village after Ganesh festivities. 

During discussions, the members were informed about the action initiated by the panchayat by sending notices on all the business establishments to stop selling or using plastic bags below 50 microns. 

The gram sabha gave its nod to the panchayat secretary to levy fines on the erring business establishments selling plastic bags after the Ganesh festivities.   

 Meanwhile, the gram sabha has resolved to ask the government to hand over the education building to the village panchayat for construction of a panchayat ghar. 

After much discussions on the issue, the gram sabha asked the panchayat to write to the Education Department as well as the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
