Paroda school teacher awarded
PANAJI: Smita Karmali, a senior teacher of the Diocesan Society of Education, presently serving at Immaculate Conception High School, Avedem-Paroda, was conferred with the Rev Cannon J S Antimo Gomes Award in recognition and appreciation of her contribution in the field of education. This award in memory of late Cannon Rev Antimo Gomes has been instituted by the People of Chinchinim Trust and was presented to her by the school manager Fr Domingo Noronha during the school assembly along with a Certificate of Merit and a cash award. Karmali, in her reply stated that a teacher shapes the future of a child and in turn the child along with other children shape the destiny of the nation.
