Stating that Canacona is witnessing a series of development works, Parrikar said: “I had not gone in detail, but with the twin bridges
of Galgibaga and Talpona slated for commissioning in June-July and a horde of other works, Canacona is getting nothing less than Rs 1000 crore worth development works before the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.”
Speaking at a brief programme at Government Rest House, Parrikar assured to build a new building for department of education,
where ADEI was housed at Chaudi, and also shift the fire station at a new suitable open space which will be shortlisted soon.

Parrikar also saw no problem in continuation of fish culture at Chapoli dam saying: “There is no problem if dam has not overflown this year, fish culture cannot contaminate dam water, instead it cleans the water. The feed is eaten by the fish and is not left in the dam water to contaminate it. Moreover, test reports done on dam water also says it is safe.”
Parrikar also assured to disburse wages of contract workers before the end of this financial year.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhavalikar assured to complete the works in 2 years and ensure that Canacona is not thirsty for want of water. “The Gaunem dam and the OH tanks at Loliem, besides purchasing of new pumps at Chapoli, will take care of water needs of entire Canacona taluka,” he said.
