Within days after Monday’s massive rally against the ODP and PDA in Calangute, the North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA) on Thursday has invited objections to prepare the land use map and register for the planning area of Arpora-Nagoa-Parra.

The NGPDA has also decided to adopt the present land use map and register of Baga.

Continuing with its process to include Arpora-Nagoa-Parra in planning areas, NGPDA in a public notice released on August 30, has invited objections in writing with respect to land use map and land use register prepared by the authority.

The NGPDA has said people can communicate to the authority within a period of 30 days from the day the notice has been published.

“Under Section 27 (3) of Town & Country Planning Act this authority shall hear all persons who will submit their objections to the NGPDA,” said R K Pandita, Member Secretary of NGPDA.

The notice informed the public that copies of present land use map and register of Arpora-Nagoa village panchayat area can be inspected at Arpora-Nagoa panchayat.

Similarly, the land use map and register of Parra panchayat area can be inspected at Parra panchayat office.

The land use map and register of Arpora-Nagao-Parra planning area may also be inspected at NGPDA office at Mala, Panaji.

In the meanwhile, NGPDA has decided to adopt the present land use map and register of Baga area of Calangute village under jurisdiction of Arpora-Nagoa village panchayat falling in Calangute-Candolim planning area.

After inviting objections from public in 2016, a sub-committee was appointed to hear objections and the report was submitted to NGPDA.

“Under Section 27 (4) of Town & Country Planning Act, 1974 the authority has considered the report and unanimously resolved to adopt the said land use map and register in a meeting held on August 7,” Pandita said.

He said copies of present land use map and land use register of Baga area was available for inspection at Arpora-Nagoa panchayat office and also at NGPDA office at Mala, Panaji.
