VASCO:
Speaking to media persons during the inspection of new parallel bridge on Zuari River in the
presence of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Parrikar said the cable
car is a new concept and the government will
examine it.
“Though it is a good concept, it requires independent corridor to be built. There is a need for proper space to install the poles on which the cable car would run. We are examining the possibility,” said the chief minister.
“The government is working on comprehensive mobility plan for the State which includes multiple mode of transport. The public transport system in Goa is in a mess. Buses ferrying passengers are overcrowded and they operate only when there is rush. They don’t operate when passengers are less,” added Parrikar.
He said the State government is intending to provide buses
even during lean hours, which will operate even if there are not enough passengers.
