PANAJI
Over a cup of tea and bhaaji at the Police canteen in the premises, Parrikar suggested general improvement of the civil structure of the heritage building where the headquarters are presently housed.
The CM also visited the police control room and Panaji police station accompanied by Director General of Police Dr Muktesh Chander, Superintendent of Police V U Borkar, Deputy Superintendent of Police (traffic) Dharmesh Angle and DySP Sucheta Dessai.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Rupinder Kumar informed that the CM suggested a host of infrastructural alterations to upgrade the standard of the dilapidated structure. Among the renovation works suggested was the upgradation of the Foreigners’ Regional Registration Office (FRRO) and better toilet facilities in the premises.
“The CM was of the opinion that the FRRO office and the general infrastructure needs to be spruced up. Works will most likely be taken up through the GSIDC,” DIG Kumar stated.
