Parrikar promises repair of Margao to Curchorem road; to consult MLAs

Chief Miniister Manohar Parrikar on Friday assured that he will try to place only one tender for repair and widening of road from Margao to Curchorem after consulting MLA’s from related constituencies. CM gave this assurance during the discussion on the private member resolution by MLA Chandrakant Kavlekar for the demand of hot mixing and widening of this road which comes within Cuncolim, Navelim, Madgao and Velim constituencies.   

BJP MLA Nilesh Cabral said that after Mopa airport, completion of this road is required to connect people from these areas to a four-lane highway and demanded the removal of any encroachment on the land acquired for this road.   

MLA’s Clafasio Dias, Filipe Neri Rodriques, Luizinho Faleiro, Aleixo Reginaldo Lorenco supported this resolution, pointing out that the present condition of the road is bad.   

Speaking on the issue CM also informed the house that some parts of MVR 40 road repair work has been taken and a work order of Rs 1.63 crore has already been issued for work on stretch between Navelim and Ravanfond road.
