A passenger was intercepted at Dabolim International Airport after he was allegedly found carrying a GPS device without the required licence or documents while preparing to board a flight to Delhi on Monday morning.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 6.50 am on August 10, when CISF personnel were screening the hand baggage of accused Sahil Sood, a resident of Himachal Pradesh, at the airport.
During the security screening, the GPS device was allegedly detected in his hand baggage. Police said the passenger was unable to produce a valid licence or the necessary documents authorising him to possess or carry the device.
Following the incident, a complaint was lodged by K. Kamaraj, Inspector, CISF, Dabolim International Airport, with the Dabolim Airport Police. Based on the complaint, Dabolim Airport Police registered an offence against Sood under Sections 3 read with 6(1A) of the Indian Wireless Telegraphy Act.
Further investigation in the case is being conducted by PSI Prathamesh Palkar of Dabolim Airport Police Station.
