Stating that patience is the only way to succeed in life, Sports Minister Govind Gaude said it equally requires willpower to bear insults.
Gaude was speaking as the chief guest after inaugurating the multi-purpose sports ground, Smart Classroom, and a Hi-Tech Computer Lab at Shri Mallikarjuna Vidyalaya of Centru Promotor de Instrucao, a century-old educational institute at Char-Rasta, Canacona.
Speaking further, Gaude said, “Efforts should be made to fulfil our dreams, but mere dreaming is not sufficient. In order to achieve our dreams, we should focus on them with determination and commitment.”
The minister praised the achievements of the school, started by CPI during the Portuguese reign 102 years ago, with a vision to make education accessible to everyone.
Special invitee, Skill Development Directorate’s Assistant Trainee Advisor Samrat Naik Gaonkar, said that confidence is very important in education.
Naik Gaonkar stated that the new building of Canacona ITI has been constructed at a cost of 9 crore rupees and this will benefit many students of Canacona.
Lauding the sports minister for his support and cooperation, CPI President Shamba Naik Desai requested that the sports department cooperate in building an open sports ground.
CMC Chairperson Sara Nasik Desai also spoke on the occasion.
On this occasion, the meritorious students were felicitated by Sports Minister Govind Gaude. Additionally, Sudan Naik Gaonkar, Sudesh Naik, Chandralekha Mestri, Ajit Desai, and Nelveen Fernandes, who were promoted and received awards in the field of education, were felicitated with shawls, shrifal, and mementos.
Ashwin Mehta, Rohidas (Dad) Naik Desai, Ratnakar Naik Gaonkar, Shailendra Gaonkar, Anandu Gane, Bhagdu Desai, Rajendra Desai, Sumitra Anand Naik Gaonkar, Vanita Tamba, and Shaila Rajya Adhyaksha were also honoured with shawls, shrifal, and mementos.
Yojana Naik was felicitated by Gaude as the best teacher of Shri Mallikarjuna Vidyalaya.
CPI General Assembly President Babuso Naik Gaonkar, Secretary Omkar Desai, Treasurer Ramesh Komarpant, Principal Varsha Naik Gaonkar, Varsha Naik, and Principal Vihar Desai were also present on the occasion.
